“Misery looks up at the picture of a hundred thousand suns in a death ballet and feels exactly as small as she should.”
I really like Neon Yang's writing.
If you do too, and if you like sci-fi with space, military and fantasy elements, I think you'll also like The Genesis Of Misery.
A lot of this book is The Church against The Heretics in a space war setting... It's not my cup of tea, and I almost dnf'ed it. But it's Yang!!! And there's enough oomph there in the very ending to appreciate the entirety of this story.
It's unique worldbuilding (at least as far as my reading experience go), I really loved the concept of holystones that do weird, fantastical things.
