The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea

I absolutely adore this book!!

The author Axie Oh did an amazing job of transporting the reader to a mythical world similar to Studio Ghibli and a Korean folktale called The Tale of Shim Cheong while giving her own twist to the story.

If you want a book that will be hard to put down, send you different emotions, and overall want to read the story over and over again. I highly recommend you to read this book!!

By the way, there is some romance but it's very subtle.

I have found another favorite for 2022. This one is packed full of adventure, emotion, mythology, and best of all love.

I honestly wasn't sure to expect when I started reading this one as this isn't a genre that I'm normally reading. I love reading fantasy, but I haven't read much Asian mythology and folklore type fantasy. I have been wanting to read more of this genre as I have always loved these types of movies.

This is such a beautiful written story, one I read in under 24 hours. It is seriously that hard to put down.

I absolutely love Mina. She is strong, determined, kind-hearted and just an all-around lovable character. Her story entwined with Shin's was perfect and made my heart so full.

I also really love how the story also encompasses family and friends and what one would do for their love of the same. This isn't just a fantasy, this is a story with meaning. Of course you know, and saying that, that means that there were times that I had tears in my eyes and loved every minute of it.

Kecantikan Mina memang tidak sebanding dengan para pengantin terdahulu. Tapi dia sudah tersapu ke Alam Roh. Kini Mina tak punya banyak waktu untuk menemukan Dewa Laut sebelum dirinya sendiri berubah menjadi arwah. Berbekal kemampuan mendongeng dan bantuan para arwah, Mina harus berhasil menemukan Dewa Laut.
Aku tertarik pada buku ini karena covernya yg cantik, terlebih edisi terjemahan memakai cover aslinya, aku ikut pra pesannya. Ekspektasiku tinggi pada buku ini, namun sayang, aku kurang paham dengan world building & magic systemnya. Aku bahkan membaca lebih dari sekali di beberapa bagian penjelasan kedua hal tersebut.
Sepertinya aku harus menerima kalau buku ini tidak cocok denganku. Namun jika teman-teman suka fantasi dengan latar belakang mitologi dan naga, mungkin kalian akan cocok.
