My first and only qualm is that this book is listed as young adult. I don't agree with that, it's not a teen novel. It is shorter than my normal read, but it is definitely one for girls of marriageable age and boy is it an adventure. This is my first adventure with author Melanie Dickerson, but I will definitely be looking for her novels in the future! The Healer's Apprentice is a great romantic mystery with adventure and nerve racking scenes. There is true love and an almost Tristan and Isolde situation, that ends so much better especially when the characters allow their lives to be directed by God's hand. There is a situation of demonic possession in the novel which at first made me uncomfortable, but it is written in a really great way and completely believable on and off the page. I'm delighted to have experienced this novel and will definitely look for more from Melanie in the future.

Thanks to Zondervan for providing a copy for review.

- Also, I found this was free on Nook and Kindle for a limited time.
