DNF - PG 19

Look, I'm not going to read any more of this, I know that, you know that, we all know that.

I went into this knowing that it is oft shelved as urban fantasy - while I do not like what is traditionally called urban fantasy. Truthfully, I didn't read enough to know if that part would give me problems. I was too busy dealing with other problems.

I don't like the higgledy piggledy way we are introduced to the world. Things are dropped in with no explanation, the wrong thing is explained, there's interruptions to the action to give a page-ish long explanation of something. This is not seamless and smooth.

This also caused me enough strife that I went exploring to find out if I was alone with this issue and/or if it ever improves.

What I found instead was explanations and warnings that there is graphic scenes (flashback) of rape. I found enough talk of this to believe it, I read enough to know when this originally happened.

If this had been warned, if I had ever clicked on the one star reviews (instead of being blinded by the overwhelming love this series garners) I would never have attempted it.
