The little island

I got this one through interlibrary loan in a possibility to purchase and I'm torn. I love Margaret Wise Brown for many other books and parts of this one are wonderful with describing the seasons as they change and animal and plant life on the island and then other parts are completely random and bizarre. I'm not sure what I think. There is also no poetry or rhythm to it like I've expected in the past from others we've read.
