The Mage on the Hill

Angel Martinez is definitely one of my favorite M/M romance authors. (And I'm slowly making my way through all her books.) For me they are a perfect balance of amazing characters, great world building and fairly low heat romance. (There's sex scenes, but these are romances novels, not close to erotica.)

This book was a bit of a surprise in that it takes place in the modern world, which I did not realize until they started mentioning Pittsburgh. I like the magic system used a lot and the characters are...I won't say fun, because the couple is a little bit of tortured souls for that, but they are likable and the supporting cast is interesting as well.
