I had to think about my rating. It ended up a duel between two stars (won't recommend) and three stars (nice, worth reading). In the end... no. Not that good. Provocative, very sexual – maybe this is high literature because the author is famous and French, but I've read better porn. The scifi plot – and of course this high literature novel is not getting labeled as scifi, because scifi is not good literature – was fine, but the future chapters didn't impress me. A rather hollow reading experience, that is. Maybe I'd appreciate this better ten years from now; I'm still feeling to young to enjoy reading about the miseries of aging.
