This is a terrific story collection. I'm not surprised, because we published one of the stories in the magazine I used to edit, and I liked that one very much. But all of the stories are very good. The characters feel very real, each of them working through a thorny problem, which they do with varying degrees of success: women with cheating husbands, men with addictions (pills or booze or both), several characters in therapy, some dealing with aging parents or problem children. It's a short book, just 150 pages, and a quick, enjoyable read. Highly recommended.
