These Violent Delights

One word: Boring.

I had to force myself to read a chapter a day just to make some progress in the book which not a good indication for a compelling read. The author has a tendency to ramble on about details not important to the plot that make choking the book down really difficult.

My other complaint is the two main characters. I found myself disliking both Juliette and Roma and personally, it super hard for me to read a book with characters I cannot relate to or even want to root for.

I mean the story was fine. The plot definitely has potential to be a really solid retelling of Romeo and Juliette that is unique, creative, and set in a really promising setting, but its the little details that make this book super hard to pick up and stick with.
