Trouble is a friend of mine

This is a great read. What's not to love? It's full of well rounded characters who are smart, very smart who get into hilarious scrapes and then are smart enough to get themselves out again. Honestly, I loved the pacing. It was not a lot of stalling and not so fast it felt like whiplash. I really wish more authors would pay attention to pacing.
I digress. Sorry.
I made the mistake of looking at reviews before I read this and now I'm in a position to defend it. It is NOT a Sherlock ripoff, nor a Veronica Mars ripoff. It's full of snark. Personally, I can't get enough snark. There is a place in this world for MORE SNARK. It's in good company. No spoilers, but Trouble is also filled with pop culture references and one, a Foster the People quote, is used so appropriately I almost fell off my bed when I read it. Well done.

It loses a star for not much of mystery, and because I can just tell Tromly is going to get much better. Looking forward to more!
