True Valor

Military novel about a romance during the Iraq war. I had an expectation for more plot and action; what is mentioned in the story's blurb is a short incident that is past the halfway point. The main content of the novel is from letters Gracie writes to her cousin and then to her love interest, his best friend. I did enjoy it better than the first book–there was nothing I actively disliked–but it was intensely boring.
