Kind of a bland start to this series, if I'm being honest. The art is actually pretty great, but the story doesn't seem like it has any sort of final destination in mind. We're introduced to Elaina, newly-made Ashen Witch, from a small village where she could, basically, do no wrong and now intent on seeing the world. The story, at least in the first volume, takes the form of short stories, with a short plot line and resolution in each chapter. There's no hint of a larger storyline spanning issues, so I suspect this continues throughout the series.
The stories themselves are kind of a mixed bag. The most memorable were Chapter 2: The Land of Flowers (kind of a dark tale to be honest), and Chapter 4: Apprentice Witch Elaina (where we meet Elaina's mentor, the Stardust Witch). The others were....okay, I guess. Kind of forgettable, to be honest.
I'm on the fence about whether I'll continue with this series. Maybe if I hit a dry spell in other, more interesting series I'm reading.
