Non sono completamente d'accordo con la tesi dell'autore (il riscaldamento globale è un'esternalità negativa e finché non verrà tassata con sistemi simili al cap and trade Californiano non andremo avanti), tuttavia apprezzo l'umiltà con cui vengono affrontate le argomentazioni e trovo affascinanti le sue riflessioni su cosa spinge o non spinge l'essere umano a prendersi cura del suo pianeta.
Non ho apprezzato invece alcuni espedienti narrativi utilizzati, come per esempio il capitolo 2 in cui vengono presentati una fatti e risultati di studi con un crudo elenco puntato, oppure il capitolo 4 in cui viene immaginato un dialogo con se stesso dell'autore, per dare ragione a se stesso.

I'm not getting many critics on the reviews. Yes, you can disagree with many things he says, you can find them not really news. The point is that he's just sharing his point of view from his experience. It's not a magic potion but just an opinion of a very smart individual, it's up to you to absorb it in the best way possible.
I've personally found it very interesting, Mr. Dalio gives very interesting opinions and thoughts about organisational behaviour, macro-economics, and ethics, definitely worth reading!
Some concepts are very useful, but I've found it boring and obvious for the most of it.
More like a management book, including the Lego business case, rather than an entertaining story.
Normalmente odio scrivere recensioni, penso infatti che la mia scrittura sia abbastanza mediocre e non penso di avere mai grandi concetti da aggiungere alle migliaia di recensioni già reperibili online, ma questa volta sento il bisogno di fare un'eccezione.
Faccio un'eccezione perché penso che Deep Work abbia in se il suo motivo di essere rivoluzionario: viviamo in un mondo iper connesso e iper pieno di informazione, e lo giudichiamo come un vantaggio, siamo spesso occupati ad essere occupati, non riusciamo a stare 10 secondi in coda alle poste senza scrollare il feed di Instagram. Cal Newport ci vuole dire che chiunque riesca a scappare da questa confusione invisibile può veramente dare un senso ai propri giorni e portare avanti la propria visione personale, invece che “reagire” alla quotidiana overdose di inter-connettività.
Rivoluzione consigliata.
Seppur i concetti alla base siano leciti e fondati, ho avuto l'impressione continua di una descrizione delle dinamiche sociali di un nonno brontolone che rifiuta qualsiasi novità, senza andare a scavare a fondo ai fenomeni descritti.

That happens because a part from some sports and disciplines, the world do not provide any direct and immediate feedback to our actions.
It made me reflect on the fact that society always pushes for single domain expertise, while young people should experiment as much as possibile, without the urge of “finishing their passion”

So many pages for a few ideas. Blame on me that I was expecting something different.
Even if though seems like he's trying to sell you the book while you're reading it, and sometimes you feel like “man, don't worry I've bought it and I'll read it, don't create unnecessary suspense! Even though if you're not a U.S. citizen some stuff may sound strange (but hey, you can take the principle and adapt it to your reality and even though you may not agree with his philosophy about credit cards, it's a really brilliant pack of advice, I really like the simplicity, the long term view and the automaticity of the system proposed. I wish everyone could read something like this in his life before his career, highly suggested lecture!
