I read this book when it first came out and immediately loved it. I myself have Asperger's and was quite positively surprised with its portrayal in this book. The book promotes acceptance of all children, including children who are different. It also shows that children with Asperger's Syndrome are really good at certain things. A great book for class or family discussion about Asperger's. The book is suitable for ages around five I think. I chose the book because it is about dissociative identity disorder. I am, however, not religious, and the christian overtures were rather annoying. Also, it is rather stereotypical for the 1990s that the book ends with Ms. Machree's cure from DID. This is not too realistic.
This book is an endearing little picture book about a blind little bunny and her friendship with a bear helping her on her way to the blueberry bush. I understand that some self-proclaimed competenet blind adults will feel this book perpetuates stereotypes, because Wosie is not the most independent bunny. Then agian, the book is suited to ages three and up, and most three-year-old children don't wander around a bush independently either. I read this book a while ago, so can't remember, but a review I wrote at the time of reading it (http://bloggingastrid.com/2014/02/20/book-review-wosie-the-blind-little-bunny-by-rose-king/) said I liked the rhyming.
Loved this book! I had immediate compassion for Harley, given that she seemed to have the emotion regulation issues I face too. This story is sad but intriguing.
I loved this book. Auggie is such a loveable character. He's so funny! That being said, I gave teh book only four stars because of it being somewhat triggering for me at times. I'm disabeld myself and honestly was a little jealous of Auggie at times. I'm not sure I can put my finger to it, but, I felt jealous of all the people sticking by Auggie in the end and the school's totally welcoming attitude. At the same time, Via's attitude, while very realistic, was also a bit triggering.
Overall though, I loved the multiple viewpoints. I liked the character development, for example with Summer and Jack.

Coping with Trauma-Related Dissociation is the first skills manual specifically for individuals with complex dissociative disorders. It covers a wide variety of topics, including acknowleding your dissocation and dissociative parts, creating an inner sense of safety, coping with various emotions (such as anger and shame) and dealing with relationships. The book is ideally used in group therapy, but I used it on my own. Its practical advice and homework are very useful. This is a much needed book for everyone who deals with dissociative identity disorder or milder forms of it.
