There were a few more slow moments in this one than the previous 2. It may have been because I had to put it down for several weeks and then try to pick it up halfway through. However the second scenes were on point and I feel like that portion of the book was more lumped together than spread out, like the previous books in the series. Overall, I still really loved jasper and sloane's story. The fact that they have so much back history made the story feel deeper and more weighted to me.
I only gave it 4 stars because the first half of this one wasn't my jam. However, I am appreciative of it because it was realistic and made the second half that much better. This one I feel is a much bigger trigger warning needed vs the first one. The crummy part is to get the full story you have to read both so if the first is tolerable to you but you do have those types of triggers the second one maybe too much for some. Then those readers don't get the full story. All in all I will be reading these again bc OMG so good.
**update I came back and changed my review to 5 stars. 24 hours after finishing the books and I can't get them off my mind. I'm completely obsessed and if I'm that hooked it deserves no less than 5stars!
I know this book is meant to be a fun prequel to HA. However, I appreciated the book more because I had already read HA. It answered a few questions but was almost not worth the read for those answers. I feel like the author could've really gotten a good deeper book out of Sibby's story. She is a valuable enough character in HA that I was excited to learn more about her with Satans affair. I got some answers but expected more of her childhood ect.
I loved the mess out of this book. It was like if I had an ounce of creativity or ability to write this would be the book I wrote
The whole series is amazing! I do feel like this one lacked on the smut more than the others but the story itself and everything was on point!
I was skeptical about it at first. However, I read the author's notes and the blurb. Therefore l knew what I was getting myself into. I will say it has sooo many things that could be triggers so consider yourself warned.
All that aside the book was intriguing from the start. The part that held my interest the most was seeing just how far the author was going with their imagination. I took away a star because it wasn't until about40-50% of the way through the book that I was hooked and didn't want to stop reading. Once it got good it got great. yes I would recommend giving it a try, so long as you do not have triggers.
Well okay then.... I was intrigued when I knew it was banned so I had to know what the fuss was about.
Two chapters in I thought okay definitely not my cup of tea but I gotta keep going now. (I had read about some details I wanted to know what those scenarios were specifically).
The story got more and more jacked but by the time I got to the most stomach churning part I was already invested into Alex and O and their story. I had started to emphasize with Alex and needed to find out the ending so I stuck it out till the end.
Overall the book is very well written and author is a good writer but the book is messed up sick and twisted
