I really wanted to like this one. The idea of a predator of the mind manifesting in the real world is interesting, but I felt this could have benefitted from about another 100 pages. 

Takes place in post Civil War south, so be prepared for a lot of racism. 

Deeply moving

Had a gut feeling reading this that the author would tell people to not vaccinate. 

Sure enough, I was right. Done with it.
