This will always be one of my favourite books, no review can never do it justice. I first read it in my early teens and reading it at the age of 30, it still had such a powerful effect on me. A beautifully written first person account of their undoing at the hands of the drug epidemic in the 70s. It's a heavy read but a page-turner.
One of the best true crime books I've read - definitely in my top 3! David brings you on a journey, I could not put this book down! Good writers get you invested in the characters of the story they are telling. But what sets great writers apart is getting you to fall for the book researcher on top of that! Big love for Caroline ♥️

‘It's hard not to be demolished by the thought of her because I have lived in a body that has loved her and eyes that have witnessed her.'
I will never crush on a woman for the first time again, but I can always come back to this book, and that's good enough for me.
I tried so hard not to finish this book too quickly. Usually, I find short stories books like this to be a hit and miss, here every single story behind a loteria card had me hooked. Obsessed with the author and on a hunt for other books of hers.
I can't say I liked the ending of this one. I disliked all of the characters. But I was invested in this thriller more than I have been in a long time.
This book absolutely doesn't deserve 5 stars, but it got me giggling, kicking my feet, smiling over the execution of my favourite trope so here we are.
If anyone were to ask me what my perfect book would read like, I'd point them to this masterpiece. ♥️
This book was such a joyous experience. I need to know what Keisha is up to these days, who she's with, her retirement plans.
3.5. I wish this book gave us so much more on the Ledge, and on the protagonist's lesbian relationships.
This book definitely found me. At no point did I know where any of the plot lines was going. All of the characters were unlikeable, which is a talent in itself. Couldn't put it down. ✨
The series is eerie, but the book is bone-chilling. At times too absurd, at times too real, looking forward to continuing the book series.
Bumping this up to 5 stars because the audiobook experience of this masterpiece is such a chef's kiss ♥️
Sharing a name with one of the characters in a Fredrik Backman book is a blessing and a curse. What a read.
It happened, we're moving past book 2 in the JLB book series! ✨ If Criminal minds is your comfort show, you'll be eating these books up.
