How To Sell A Haunted House is an enjoyable, snappy horror that's both funny and frightening. Once the action starts its fast paced, with a chatty writing style that's easy to read. The relationship between the two main characters - Louise and her younger brother Mark, is well formed and Louise's love for her daughter shone through. There are some very surreal moments in this, which dampened down the fear factor for me but I still enjoyed the book.

This is my second Riley Sager book and while I preferred The Only One Left I still enjoyed this one. The multiple narratives and flashbacks worked well, the 90s was lovingly recreated and the neighbourhood setting felt very real. I found the main character likeable and the supporting characters were given quite a bit of development and fleshing out which I value but that did slow the pace, especially in the middle. The ending wasn't what I was expecting but I wasn't completely disappointed as it felt right for the characters

Hear Him Calling is about evil echoing through the years.

I enjoyed the two interwoven stories and the slow build up of creeping horror. The main character, Lydia, is complex and well drawn and the setting is carefully crafted and suitably eerie. This book is a well written classic ghost story with some moments that chilled me.
