Giving this a 3.75.
There were parts I liked and parts that I was pretty bored with to be honest. I feel that in the past two books there hasn't been much character development which this book desperately needs, not only from the main character but from the supporting characters as well.
I struggled through this. I thought the idea was great and it had a few moments that kept me engaged where I didn't want to put it down, but for the most part I found the story dragging and my mind wondering.
My First Brandon Sanderson book and I really enjoyed it! Loved the characters and the story. Looking forward to reading the rest of the Cosmere!
What a story, disturbing and thought provocing at the same time. And the ending....if you know, you know
I absolutely loved this book, I did not want to put it down. It was a little messed up in parts but I think that was part of its appeal.
I didn't expect going into this short story that I would come out of it loving the world that it takes place in and that I would be not want it to end but that is exactly what happened.
Brandon Sanderson is a master at world building and he has done it again here. The creatures inhabiting this world shine and are arguably the main characters of this story, along with the land itself.
My only issue would be that the ending fell a little flat for me but everything else made up for it.
I hope that we get more stories in the Cosmere from this system in the future.
This is one of the best fantasy novels I have read. This series just gets better with each book. Don't sleep on this one!!
