Another amazing book in this series! Absolutely loved it, I was transported right back to Haverport with all the characters I came to love in Safe Harbor. Absolutely a must read!!
All in all, not too bad. I liked the author's writing style, the way she described things made you really be able to visualize it “I felt light as popcorn”.
What I didn't like is that I figured out the big thing very early on, like around the second chapter. I also didn't like how it ended and all wrapped up. It was very expected and I would have much preferred a twist of some sort.
Spoilers after a general review - I'll put a warning before. I honestly almost didn't finish this book. I listened to it on Libby and was 19% in and almost returned it. I am so glad I didn't. It turned out to be one of my favorite books ever. It was beautiful and not at all what you'd expect.
Spoilers below!!!!!
I really don't want to give too much away. I think the way it is written will shock you and have the emotional effect it's supposed to. That being said, I've seen some reviews upset by how the story went. To me, this wasn't a typical love story. This was a love story of two best friends (not friends to lovers, just honest love between two friends).
This is my 10th Colleen Hoover book and about halfway through I had a thought - Colleen Hoover is going to be the next Nicholas Sparks. Seriously such a great author. This book was no different, it was heart wrenching and tragic and beautiful and loving. If you know Colleen Hoover then you know what I mean.
I heard a lot of mixed reviews and honestly almost stopped halfway through. I'm glad I stuck it out. Not the best book ever, but it was good!
It was good. I was getting a little bored towards the middle but then there are reveals one right after the other. I listened to the audiobook and at one point I actually had to pause it to wrap my head around /one of/ the twists!
It was very long, I think a lot could have been trimmed out. Overall it was a good, there's a good hook at the end and plot twist that makes you want to read the next one.
Overall a pretty good book and story... but man was it hard to get into.. and hard to finish. It's less than 300 pages and it took me months to finish it, I just wasn't excited to pick it back up.
It was okay. It was kinda cute, kind of well written. It was a a great quick read, I listen on Libby and I had it done in almost 3 hours.
I don't want to give any big spoilers but there's a twist at the end that just comes out of nowhere. It doesn't make sense with the rest of the story and just seemed like the last sticky note on the board that just had to make it in.
Honestly, a very sad book. Not a ton of positive elements. Ended with me feeling very sad after.
Such a great book. What an amazing debut novel. It destroyed me in the best possible way. Love love love it! Can't wait for book #2
So incredibly good. Such a great love story. Had me in tears several times and ended perfectly.
