I think I'm just gonna go ahead and dnf this book now. I'm not invested in the character or their “romance.” I prefer a really good slow burn, and this is not it, which is fine but just not for me. The worldbuilding was a little bit confusing for me and her slight “not like other girls” attitude, which rears its head up every time her sister is on the page, just makes me dislike her a lil bit. Overall, it's not my cup of tea, although I kept at it because it genuinely has promise. Sad it did not work out for me, but oh well.
Amazing conclusion! Wish there was a continuation to the series though. There are some things that need to be answered.
I cannot properly express how much this book has made me feel. It was wonderful, heartwrenching and bewitching. Worth all my tears.
This was absolutely magnificent. Utterly bewitching. Cannot wait to get the sequels and devour them.
This was a very intense ride that I will not forget for a very long time. I feel like Courtney Summers did a very good job of striking up a conversation about mental illness and depression.
This exceeded my expectations
I wasn't expecting much when I dived into this book. I just thought that it was going to be another interesting book with an ok plot and characters. I was so wrong. This book exceeded my expectations and that is something that rarely happens with me. The main character was not annoying but rather strong and in control. Logical, sarcastic and the fact that she wasn't good with comebacks made her all the more endearing because I can relate in that department. The plot and setting were gorgeously intricate and detailed. All in all, I loved this book.
I'm so glad I waited until the entire trilogy was published in order to read this series because damn that ending!
This book absolutely broke my heart to million little pieces that, scattered all over, and I feel like I'm never going to get back. Absolutely amazing and now one of the best fantasy series that I've ever read.
I'm not sure why this was recommended to read before Inda, but I would not recommend that. This was a very confusing read. Lacking the context of the worldbuilding makes this a difficult read. I'll probably reread once I finish the Inda Quartet, and hopefully, by then, I'll understand this better.
This book wasn't what I expected at all when I first went into it. It took me completely by surprise considering that I'm not a big fan of contemporary. This book was everything I needed at the moment, I loved the main character and related to her on so many levels. I loved the romance and the events that transpired. It was just amazing.
I thought that this was a great book overall. At first it looked like a normal fantasy book but when you read farther into the book and you immerse yourself into the world you realize that there are more things going on than what's on the surface. It was the depth of the book that made me realize the beauty of the world and the underlying plot. Overall, this book was a pleasant read and I can't wait to continue with the series.
