This was my first contemporary romance/ROMCOM and it was really cute. It made me chuckle at times, but I also found myself getting frustrated with the FMC a bit. The MMC is literally the sweetest. The third act conflict was kind of annoying. If you're looking for smut, this isn't it, but if you're looking for a quick, adorable Hallmark-type movie with likeable characters, found family vibes with very subtle spice and a HEA, then give it a try.
I enjoyed the world building and some of the characters. It got much more interesting towards the end of the book. A solid read. Would recommend.
This one was harder for me to get through, despite the fact that this seems to be everyone's favorite book in the series. I love the MMC and some of the side characters. Again, I felt like all of the interesting things happen closer to the end of the book, and it was really hard for me to stick through this to get there, but I eventually finished.
Ok I finished this book in one day. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't horrible. The writing was good, I liked some of the characters, but I cannot for the life of me ever picture Alex and Ava actually having a HEA...because WTF? While some of the scenes were sweet and the spicy scenes were pretty hot, I just could not root for Alex. The guy is a complete a**hole and the touch her and die is kinda hot but he's way too possessive and controlling and he's a freaking STALKER. Ava is clearly trauma bonded. With that being said, I will absolutely keep reading the rest of the series lol
This was provided to me as an ARC for review. This book was not for me. I DNF and will not be continuing on with this series.
This was my first ever ARC, and I'm sad to say it just didn't do it for me. The concept was interesting, as I'd never read a caribou-shifter romance before, but it was just too short. The characters and plot weren't developed and I could understand if this was just pure smut, but even the spicy scenes were lacking.
This was a cute fated mates monster romance. I adored the MMC, he was a sweetheart (although him constantly calling the FMC mate made me want to hurl.) The raccoon sidekick was precious. I found the book to be a bit long, and there were SO many spicy scenes that were far too similar, especially with the repeated verbiage (if I ever read the word quim again, I might pull my hair out. Also, it's just a strange word to use to describe the female genitalia), I wish there had been less tbh. Despite some of the hiccups, I still really enjoyed the world-building and am interested to read the next book in the series.
I was provided an early copy for review. This was a quick fated mates read with an interesting twist at the end. The spice was ok.
This was an ARC that was provided to me for review. The premise sounded really interesting but I just couldn't get into it. I got halfway through then skimmed through the rest to finish. It wasn't for me.
I'm convinced this was written by AI because there's no way an actual human could have written this confusing mess. Yikes.
Kinda spoiler-y...
Now let me preface this by saying that I'm not religious at all and I have no problem with a bit of forbidden romance, but even I found myself cringing at some of the sacrilegious acts in this book. The MMC is a priest, but he acts more like a horny teenager than a man of faith nearing his 30s, and his inner monologue and lack of actual respect for his station and faith was icky. The instalust toward the FMC without even ever seeing her was annoying. The author seemed to try to give the FMC depth by making her highly educated, incredibly attractive, and having an altruistic nature, but completely ruined it by just making her a cheating sex-addicted stripper. The miscommunication then instant reconnection at the end was the rancid cherry on top of this smut-filled instalove book. Meh.
A quick read. If you like a holiday-themed RH instalove, with sword crossing, and an unrealistic HEA, then this is for you. Unfortunately, it was not for me. I did appreciate the plus-size FMC though.
So this one was a tough read for me. I felt like it dragged on and it took me so long to finish because I kept putting it down because I was bored. That being said, I'm glad I stuck it out and finished it. I was sobbing like a baby during the final scene with her mom, I was surprised that Andarna was a different breed, even though there were a lot of little hints kinda sprinkled throughout that I didn't pick up on, and obviously the ending with Xaden. Still don't love Violet, she annoys me.
I'm so disappointed in my first BOTM book. I only got about 130 pages before I DNF this book. It was SO boring, none of the things that happen are in any way believable (like the parents being part of the investigation of their missing child), and none of the characters were relatable or likable. Just a waste of time and money.
I finished this book in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. Lots of interesting twists. I enjoyed it and would recommend.
I had so many thoughts and theories while reading this. Lo and behold, I only got like one or two things right and the rest were unexpected! This kept me entertained despite some little parts that were irksome due to the FMC being kind of annoying. Despite that, I would still definitely recommend!
The FMC is annoying, as is the MMC's stupid nickname for her, and the world doesn't really make sense, but this book was entertaining. Some of the writing is cringe but I gave an extra star because it made me actually cry at one point (I'll never forgive you Rebecca
I'm writing this in December, I read it in September. I remember the story vaguely but it wasn't memorable and the details have left my brain, so I guess it wasn't that great. As far as I do remember, it was pretty predictable. Also, DO NOT watch the movie, it is garbage.
This was such an interesting concept and I enjoyed Signa and Deaths' characters. Some of the characters were a little bit harder to love or root for, but they grew on you. Really thought-provoking and definitely some interesting twists. I was pleasantly surprised considering I went into it blind. I wish it had some spice after all the tension but I didn't realize it was YA lol. Despite that, I still really enjoying it.
I almost DNF this book, but I pushed through because it was a book club read. Not sure why everyone online loved this book so much. Maybe I'm just not a dark romance girly.
