Darker than i thought. Couldn't blame khiva for acting like that, 10 years of abuse and gaslighting do a thing to you
I was VIBING i was LOVING it then around 80% i noticed that it was from the same author as lord of scoundrels and i started vibing even harder. Mightve found a new favorite author
The copious amount of abuse was a bit too much for me. Made the book hard to read at times. Also not happy that Heathcliff had a peaceful death at the end. I hated that guy.
Was not in the mood for the angst and messy relationship, thought the married part would've started sooner instead of halfway through the book
“Are you a wizard?” Rory asks, crooking a surprised smile at me.
“No.” I chuckle. “Just a dork, I guess.”
The chapters written from Una's viewpoint were actually so good and then it would switch to Killian's POV and I couldn't take anything the dude says seriously. But at the same time the author got the gym bro way of thinking/speaking so correctly that I was also awestruck at her. Conflicted feelings. Devoured the book in one day.
I have a severe allergy towards talk of pregnancy and traditional family yet this book managed to make me care for the characters and their future together so yeah take that 4* and leave me alone
When you've just survived violence and abduction and are down to shag. My girl had a mission and i gotta respect her.
But damn the book was darker than expected. Make sure to check the trigger warnings before reading.
Was going to give it 3.0 but the scene with Rory and his mom talking before the match got me emotional so there we go
Dnf at 59% the mcs were getting annoying and if i had to read through yet another outfit description i wouldve gone mad
Was a nice story up until the surprise pregnancy and subsequent freaking out and running away and getting abducted part but hey at least she was badass during that
Have read 3 Alice Coldbreath books so far and they've all explored the ultimate wish fulfillment fantasy: getting a new job and immediately knowing what to do.
