Loved. It. I kind of knew were this was going but it didn't matter. What mattered was the journey... and boy, oh boy that was it great ride.
3.5☆ I don't know how to feel about this book. I LOVED the girls and their relationships with each other, very few books in fantasy revolve around a group of girls and I loved it...
The rating comes from the fact that I feel like this was a very long book with very little plot that served more of an introduction. I hope it gets better.
It is a very well written book. The character are very much alive to the point where you could actually believe they live in the real world. That said, I would not recommend this book and I suggest people think about it before picking up this book.
Amazing world, beautiful magic system and a great story. It is a shame there is not a sequel.
Sarene is my favourite female characters in the fantasy genre. Love.
This was just not for me. When people tell you it's character driven, believe them. NOTHING happens in this book.
I didn't know about his life before listening to his memoir. What a life, what a fighter of a mom. The way he explains the apartheid and how it affects people every single day, it's amazing.
Great worldbuilding. I love when books want you to discover the magic system slowly and with the characters.
The world seemed real and very well developed. I already bought Book 2
El primer libro que he leido de Mieville. La historia de estas dos cuidades, que habitan el mismo tiempo y espacio, pero que sus habitantes han sido condicionados a no reconocer a la otra y que derepente se ven conectadas por un asesinato, me tuvo fascinada por varios dias.
Me debo una segunda lectura de este libro para confirmar que, en efecto, la magia que experimente la primera vez, sigue ahi. Pero, mientras esa segunda lectura para refrescar memoria y para confirmar que en efecto, es una historia maravillosa, se lo recomiendo a cualquiera.
La historia en si puede ser interesante... pero el estilo de escritura nunca logro que conectara con ningun personaje y por tanto, nunca me llego a importar lo que sucediera y por que.
Me sorprendió lo mucho que me gustó.
La forma en que esta escrito donde cada personaje tiene su propio capitulo e historia.
La mezcla entre un tema como el racismo y ciencia ficcion fue excelente. ❤

Such a great book! If you are a character driven reader then maybe this won't be the book for you. Hopefully he starts fleshing the character in the second book. This one was more a world building type of book with mysteries abound everywhere you look. It is a great world. One that I will definitely read more about. I bought the second and third book halfway throug this book.
Wow. All the stars for this book. It's been a long time since a book was written in such a way that made it super easy to convey the images in my head. The fighting scenes were amazing but my favorite had to be the Daaso Headtaker excerpt... I could see it, like a movie. I was her, I was seeing what she was seeing... and
Como todo buen libro de science-fiction, Le Guin te presenta un mundo maravilloso que guarda horribles secretos que te hacen cuestionar tus valoraciones y tu vision en la vida.
Primer escrito de Le Guin que leo y, definitivente sera el primero de muchos.
Excelente libro. A veces drenante, especialmente en estos tiempos; a veces espantoso y aterrador.
Offred no es una protagonista perfecta, pero eso la hace mas real, mas profunda.
Definitivamente, le recomiendo a todos que lo lean.
Ya que puedo decir que soy veterana en el genero de Fantasy, que he leido lo suficiente, realmente le doy 3.7 estrellas... solo por el hecho de que prefiero que los builtups en los libros sean mas politicos en vez de estar enmarcado en un viaje y los escollos que aparecen en el camino. Sin embargo, creo que el mundo creado por Jordan es hermoso e interesante, al igual que los personajes que habitan en el. Ademas, de que, a pesar de no ser mi plot favorito, entiendo que este primer libro se trata mas de la buqueda y el crecimiento de los personajes en los que gira la serie y como se topan con su destino.
