Ivy girl, you were so stubborn. She had my head spinning. Scott is so sweet, but I feel like he should’ve told her about his job sooner (like his friend suggested) since he knew she wanted nothing to do with the football world. They were on and off due to Ivy’s fear but when they were together, they were too cute. I loved Ivy’s pops, just for him to be snatched from us, R.I.P. Billy. Their relationship was everything, but I wish she would’ve spent time watching games with him since he loved the game so much. This was a cute sports read. I will say this book has 3 breakups so keep that in mind. I’m not a huge fan of third-act breakups, but the story itself was good, so I stuck to it, and I am so glad that I did.

I thought Yesica was annoying most of the time because of how she treated her mother vs how she treated others but I really enjoyed this book. I loved the Spanish phrases incorporated into the story and I loved Yesica’s growth (it took forever in my opinion). My favorite part was when she confronted that horrid mother-in-law of hers and I was glad when she got to say her goodbyes to her father-in-law, who was nothing like his wife. Such a sad way to say goodbye but it was good for her.
This was a random pick from KU and I definitely picked it because it was centered around the lives of three Latina women living under the same roof once again. My first ever book by Annette and I think I might have just become a fan. This book was well-written and it was easy to read. I recommend it 100%

To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement. People on Booktok overhyped this book and I was even scared of reading it because I thought it wouldn’t live up to the expectations I had. I should’ve listened to my gut and kept it as a shelf trophy. I had been trying since June 2024 to finish this book because I am stubborn and really wanted to read AND ENJOY my first Penelope Douglas book… Now I don’t want to pick Birthday Girl up because of the same fear, that it’s overhyped, and it won’t live up to expectations.
Let’s talk about my problem with this book and it certainly wasn’t that she was sleeping with her STEP uncle and STEP cousins. Tiernan being fucking 17 years old when her parents commit suicide and decide that it would be best for her STEP (this is important) uncle to care for her did not sit well with me. She’s shipped off (away from the one person who cared for her when her parents didn’t) to the middle of nowhere with three men she’s never even met before. The smut didn’t happen until she was 18 but I would’ve preferred the FMC a little older from the very beginning. I immediately hated the “you’re the woman you cook for us attitude” and hated Kaleb even more. Kaleb is mute and, in my opinion, has way too many issues that he needs to deal with and heal from. His first encounter with Tiernan was him assaulting her, needing his brother to pull him off of the poor girl. No amount of childhood trauma excuses sexually assaulting someone else or assaulting in general which he did to Tiernan more than once. I will never understand why she chose the psychopath instead of the other brother, EVER.
Do yourselves a favor, read the negative reviews, and listen to them. For once, I agree with them.

How is it possible that I love so many characters in this book? Zeb obviously being number one on my list. I loved how he cared for Benjamin as if he were his own and when Ada came into the picture, I didn’t think I could love him more. Mahina & Zeb’s relationship is everything. Mahina’s brother was such an A-hole, he definitely gave “I’m jealous of my family vibes” and it was NOT cute. I loved Levi and his loyalty to Zeb which extended to Mahina and Benjamin. I am super excited for his book to come out and I’d love to see him around the family more. Caution: This book contains the topic of child trafficking.

After reading The Serpent's Bridge, I was so excited about this book and loved every minute of it. I couldn’t put this book down and I found myself wanting to put off my responsibilities just to finish it. I loved Von’s character and felt so bad about what happened to her to cause her to do what she did. Although Bobby wasn’t mentioned in many scenes I still found myself hating him… he should’ve taken the hint when his fiancee went 8 months without speaking to him but alas, he did not… Sammy… I may have shed a tear for Sammy after what was done to her, it wasn’t at all what I had expected though I should’ve expected it. And just in case anyone was wondering, I’m team Nazario & Huxley. I found the ending to be perfect for Von after her disappearance and if you ask me, she was doing the world a favor, I wouldn’t have bothered the woman in the first place.
This book does contain the topics of sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse so I suggest you all proceed with caution.

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first one. It had so much going on that it eventually lost me. I considered DNFing a couple of times but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. I thought I’d be brought back to the story, but that just wasn’t the case. I did feel bad for Nyxia and everything she went through. They (the people who hurt her, and there were quite a few) really had no mercy for that girl.
For those who would want to read this book, I do recommend that you read the first book, though it says it's not really necessary to do so. And please for the love of all that is good, please read the content warnings and don’t ignore them.

This was a quick read (91 pages or so), but just like the previous book the spice was so good. I loved what Nico was teaching Roxy almost as much as she did. I love how their bond grew after her incident and the trust she has with him. At this point I want to work at Club Euphoria lol they have all the fun. This entire series can be read as a standalone though I’d recommend reading in order.

I finally started an OVERHYPED (imo) book, and I didn't like it at all. When I started reading this, I was immediately in and out, I got 35% through it and had to pause it because I didn't want to DNF it and tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but to me, it was simply boring. I resumed my reading today (Dec. 19th, 2024) and got to 38% before I decided to just DNF it. I'm not going to spend what I have left of 2024 on a book that I think is boring as hell and has childish ass MCs. You can't be boring and also have childish MCs, pick a freaking struggle.

This is my second read by Jenn, and I quite enjoyed it. I love a good enemies-to-lovers, boss-x-employee romance. I can’t get enough of them. The storyline was pretty good, and the spice was great though I thought the FMC was a bit extra sometimes. Her past was a tough pill to swallow; that girl went through it.
Dallas the man that you are! I love how supportive he becomes when he finds out about Blaire’s past trauma and how supportive he continues to be even after her accident and his attitude towards him (rightfully so? I don’t know how I feel about that whole situation with the file on her past and all). I felt so bad for her after that accident with her way of thinking. I appreciate the way Dallas’ family was towards Blaire, even before they found out about what was going on between them, it was so cute. It was a good read in my opinion.

I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THIS BOOK. Fallon is such a badass and I was here for all of it. Kage was such a cutie, in a totally obsessed way but that’s okay. I loved how supportive he was of his woman, how he never gave up on her, and how he’d do absolutely anything for her—including barking. That entire scene might’ve been one of my favorites, top 3 for sure. My not-so-favorite scene? When Kage got hurt, my heart was in my throat because I thought he wouldn’t make it out alive. The only thing that I didn't quite like was that epilogue, I’m still confused about it.

Jena has left me with another cliffhanger, and I just can’t get enough of these books. I love that Ivy and Lex finally admit they’re important to each other, honestly, it’s what I have been waiting for. The spice in this one was so good, my favorite scene being when Lex had Ivy tied up and Carter showed up, my lawd was that 🥵. Honestly my favorite book in the series.
Just like in the last book, I didn’t trust Poppy for crap, and I was 100% on Lex’s side when it came to her. Come to think of it, I didn’t trust anyone that wasn’t the main 4. Ivy’s mother has been the absolute worst, and I don’t think it's fixable… What she did in the previous book and continues to do is unforgivable. The fact that a mother could do such a thing to her own child blows my mind. Miri’s grandmother is right behind Ivy’s mother with how horrible they are. Miri is irritating just a bit, like woman stand up to your grandmother!
I’m so excited for the next book and I’m ready to see our beloved characters kick some fairy king 🍑. I can’t wait to get the answers that I still need like, what the hell really happened to Miri in Monaco?

I’ve only ever read 1 other book by this author, and I loved it, this one, not so much. The minute the sheriff was introduced I did not like him. It was an immediate write-off, I contemplated DNFing but since it was such a short read, I decided to stick to it. My mind about the MMC did not change. The FMC seemed a little juvenile to me, but I didn't dislike her nearly as much as the MMC.

This book is so irritating. I had to DNF before finishing the 11th chapter, I refuse to put myself through 20 more chapters of their crap. The MMC is an idiot for throwing money at the problem aka the child he was not expecting from a one-night stand that disappeared before he even woke up the next morning. The FMC and her best friend are both insufferable considering the FMC is the one who left after their one-night stand without getting any sort of contact and had 9 months to come to terms with her pregnancy, then she comes back and expects the news not to completely shock the MMC, please be so FFR. The FMC’s father is no better, while I understand that he is trying to protect his GROWN ASS child he should know that her behavior is gross. When the MMC tries to do the right thing both the FMC and her best friend give him the hardest time about it. He files for shared custody and asks for visitation in the meantime and the FMC immediately calls her lawyer to have him stall on both the shared custody and visitation, that’s ridiculous. Don’t even get me started on the MMC’s fiancée who is only a fiancée because neither of them wanted feelings involved. She cares more about her career than anything else including the MMC’s feelings towards his son but refuses to break off their already fake engagement, so she just wants him to forget he has a son just to keep her happy. Homegirl can kick rocks. This was honestly a waste of a credit, and I am livid about it.
