I've always wanted a poisonous garden but maybe I don't anymore... still very fascinated by herbs/plants and their history. Maybe not go for the deadliest of plants.

Started out okay but slowed down too much for me.
I assume there’s some good research done and there’s plenty of facts on how the legal system is working at the time. Which isn’t great fun.
Also some repetition from the original book and the characters are not popping. Jane Austens characters are coming straight at you but not here, flat.
Daisy is back and she and Alec have inherent a house and of course they find a body shortly after moving in, because of course.
This is the 17 book in the series and Alec is still second guessing his wife... it's like he doesn't know they are in a book.
I wanted to like this one because my brother likes it (even if he hadn't read it since he was a child) but... slow and hard to care for the characters and there's a line towards the end, a woman wrote this? Different times I guess but what the heck. I do like the idea of medieval mystery so might give another book a try to see if they get better and keep my eye out for other mysteries set in this era.
