I hadn't realized this was a young adult book. Normally I don't mind young adult, but once the author had the CNO giggling like a petulant schoolgirl in a meeting with the president, I just couldn't take any more. I'm sure there's lots of action and adventure in this book, and although it's an interesting premise, it's just not for me.
While most of the book was an enjoyable, if light, read, it ultimately suffered from one of my pet peeves. I don't care how many people are killed in any book, but if an animal is deliberately tortured or killed in the story, the book goes in the trash. I realize this is probably a mental illness, but it's my mental illness. I'm refuse to read something that bothers me.

I expected science fiction. I got space horror. And cheesy space horror, at that. I kept expecting it to get better, but it never did.
A bit of a disappointment.
Wow. Don't expect to get anything else done while you're reading this. It has to be among the top 3 books I've ever read.
