cool read
a little slow , with passages that i really liked , and other that bored me a little
i found it quite funny to see an english man living in the peak of imperial britain complain about being conquered and his people killed
i also liked the end
it was surprising in a pleasant way

Whimsical, Sweet and witty , this was my introduction to the cosmere
The narrative voice is very unique and pleasant and the main reason why it's so high score , alongside the great , rather excellent, worldbuilding in my opinion , I love how this planet is constructed , and .... that thing was a spaceship ? Got me to pause a second
My fav is Hoid wich I've been told appear often , he seem interesting , who am kidding I love him , love his personality and narration
The plot wasn't complicated , simple and pleasant to read and follow .
The charachters
Love how he called everyone DOUGS , am I a doug ?
Tress is loveable , I found her sometimes a lil bland , but a genuinely purely kind charachter is very sweet to see in a literary landscape that appear to want to showcase more and more grimdrak we are all evil stories
The mouse dude was forgettable
I love HOID did I told you thar
The sorceress seem cool , I wonder where she is from

Good prequel

i genuinely wanted to cry in the final action sequence in the end and then you hit me with that speech
sal singh is so tragic i genuinely cant get over him , i genuinely cant , i absolutely cant , he was the brightest kindest guy ever

pipa is now my model of not procrastnating love her
this book is awesome

the concept is original , i liked that whole transcript thing this book have going on , its kinda refreshing style wise
but the plot , dont really stand out that much , the end wasnt that satisfying, maybe because i was expecting more messier events or like some more tragedies more drama
anyways i dont regret reading it but i wont remeber it either

The book should have ended with bunny's funeral and skip to the very last events of the book because after that it is of a boring
Trully it wasn't that great yo begin with , or great at all , but the premise was quite good , it feel dragged and become unestersting after a point
And thexway it narrate wich was interesting at the beginning just become annoying
Now at least I can say that I read it
Will probably never recommend to anybody


Also to my surprise the character feel bland all veneer but shallow could have been done better

She intend it as a superbole probably but it illustrate perfectly this book lack of subtlety in this author writting , I promise you the reader is not a moron and dont need to be lectured by textbook tirades , show dont tell
Also those characters are caricatures , the pure archetype no more no less , Zott is not a product of her time with revoluyionary ideas , she is the self insert 21 century woman , who is a cartoon scientist genuinely , she travelled through time and dont fit at all , and brought with her some social justice textbooks probably ,i understand the feminist message but why not a more organic one , she lived all her life with the same ideas hammered at her , she isnt going to have the same mindset at us
her colleague are infruating , but i let it slide , it could be , even if the odds of a whole research department not understanding their own results , the whole departemnet not some of them , all of them , are morons , that need help , tbr how do you think they arrived at their positions ? they had an advantages in comparison to zott , but a harvard graduate is still an extremelly sharp individual

also this book have a strong r/atheist vibe , those edgelords kinda ambiance going for it , look at this woman lowkey proving atheism , wich girl no she isnt , also every single religious figure is crooked or evil and just lying to others about faith , i am no christian , but is it hard to fanthom some people actually are believers , i understand maybe she intended to have some exploration of religion for financial or political but it fell flat as the rest of the book



in sum , dnf a third through , could have been a good , insightfull read but this is a big fumble , but any surface white feminist might appreciate it , solvimg structural issues and racism one virtue signaling at the time

daenerys , all chapters but the house of the undying were boring and not engaging , dany go to quarth , demand armies , people say no girl , dany feel betrayed , but the house of the undying sequence was great i loved it
sansa pov , i did like her here poor girl , liked her war scene , hardly ever do we see the non warrior pov of the war , she was great loved her chapter

tyrion , strong chapters overall , kinda fell off toward the very end
jon , i liked to see what beyong the wall , specially that the others fascinate me , and i want more ghost
