Thank you Netgalley and Crown Publishing for providing me this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
SPOILER FREE:
The premise of this book really caught my attention because who DOESN'T wonder about fate, destiny, etc. vs free will? Are some things just MEANT to happen or do we choose our paths that let them? Can some people REALLY see the futures of another? And is there a way to avoid it from happening? From the first chapter, Liane hooks the reader by creating a captivating premise and characters that have their own journeys throughout the novel but intertwine. I love the main narrator of the novel (if u can say that) and the insight she provides to where we are in the beginning. The character's POV are each unique but universal and make you want to read on. Relating to issues like mental health awareness and pre-destined fates make them relatable and enjoyable to read.
I would say that a character could have been cut or it could have been a bit shorter and would still have had a full story and gotten its points across, but overall it was enjoyable from start to finish and I am so excited for others to read it!! #lianemoriarty #netgalley #hereonemomentbook
A really great debut novel! I loved the mystery with a hint of fantasy weaved in. The characters were realistic enough that I didn't question motives or thoughts and it was a refreshing version of romance.
Excited to read the next one!
Growing up, I had only heard of Elvis as one would a myth or a legend. This book let me learn of what he was like as just a man. And while i know it would be difficult for those who love Elvis to separate myth from man, I do encourage others to read this book. Not everyone is perfect, but that shouldn't lessen the positive impact they have had in other's lives. And you can't really judge anyone if you've never walked in their shoes.
Firstly, thank you BookSirens for letting me read this ARC. I absolutely love horror and thriller books. When I read the premise of this book, the word “cult” hooked me and I knew I had to read it. I can honestly say that this book was a page-turner. I kept saying to myself “one more chapter” before I would have to put it down for the day. The way the author seamlessly weaves in the past and the present together for the climax is great. The characters and their reactions in perilous situations were realistic and believable. There were some parts that didn't read as well and slightly took me out of the story, but overall it was very good. Can't wait to see what her next book is!
I received this ARC for free and am reviewing it voluntarily.
So I didn't finish it. I enjoyed it for a while until he got smug. I didn't like how he talked about people he met as if he was superior to them. Also, with the way he talks about women (which is really not needed) this book is obviously geared towards men, which is a real shame.
Dear author, don't you think women would want to read this book too? Apparently not.
This will be a SPOILER-FREE review. Firstly, thank you NetGalley for letting me read the eGalley of this book. I give this book 4.5 stars in the horror genre because it DELIVERS. One part made me not want to read anymore horror books ever, but in a good way. It builds a sense of isolation, suspense and mystery throughout.
I recommend this book when it comes out SEPTEMBER 12, 2023!!!
I'm not one for romances, but this was a fast-paced, fun and at times humorous read that I enjoyed throughout. The protagonists were engaging and has the overall feeling of encouraging others to follow their passions.
3.5 stars. It started off pretty promising but as I got into the “romance” aspect I find I'm just not one for spice. And some of the worldbuilding left me confused as to dragon pairing and humans.
Ok so it's not EXACTLY like the plot of The Last Mrs Parrish but it's pretty darn close. I'd recommend reading one or the other.
The octopus was the smartest character in this book and nothing would have gotten done or problem solved without him. Humans are NOT remarkably bright creatures.
I feel like this book wasn't needed and that the first book could've stood on its own. It didn't add much to the story afterward, and it left me a bit disappointed.
I can see why this book is so controversial. I honestly don't know what to rate this book. It's either brilliant or ludicrous. I could have done without a lot of the scenes between Verity and Jeremy as it didn't add much, but I do have to say that it was a page-turner and I constantly wanted to keep reading.
a good, creepy YA thriller
I only knew a vague summary of this book before reading and I'm kind of glad. It was more fun to just dive in with almost no clue as to what it would be about. I didn't want to put it down.
3.5 stars. Not as whimsical and mind-bending as Caraval was but it was still intriguing enough to want to know the whole of things going on.
More like 2.5 stars. I had to finish it because otherwise it would have bothered me if I didn't. I feel like it was probably way more hyped up than it should have been. Or maybe it just wasn't my kind of “thriller.”
It's official. This book belongs in the top three creepy YA books along with Wilder Girls and Sawkill Girls. I did see the ending coming though.
I'm really not a big fan of spice but I enjoyed the themes and Nesta's personal journey.
I am providing my fair and honest review (finally) in exchange for a free e-ARC from netgalley and McMillan Publishers.
I really loved Fable, so when I received the e-ARC, I couldn't be more thrilled. This second novel continues right where we left off and doesn't really give you a recap, so if you forgot what happened at the end of the first one, I'd reread it.
This second book really dives more into the backstory of the main characters and how they came to be where they are. There are shocking twists and revelations but nothing too out there. The “action” revolves more around business and politics than it does on the high-seas.
Overall, it was a fun read and I enjoyed it immensely.
I liked it up until part two. The it just went downhill. I actually skimmed the last five or so chapters.
