What can I say about the essays that make up this book? Weird, vulgar, dirty but yet purely transparent.
I respect Dunham honesty. However, I cannot say that I enjoyed this book.
I do not connect with Dunham on any level. It seems throughout the book, she was trying too hard. As though, she was trying to shock the reader. I did not take away that she was so cool or even had any real adventure. I left the book feeling incredibly sad for her.
YA book full of jewels. I would recommend for all teenage girls. I am purchasing a copy for my daughter.
I have really enjoyed this book series, thus far. One caveat, I am not a fan of slow burn romance. Josie and the Captain's relationship has become annoying at this point.
Is lack of activism, cowardice? Is okay to just be concerned with what affects you and your family, daily? What happens when a foreigner decides to take activism into her own hands, while trying to find herself, at the same time. This novel grapples with these issues.
4.5 star
Scott is masterful at creating short series. I enjoyed all of these stories with the exception of 1 or 2. This is a author I will be following.
As the settings was in my childhood neighborhood, the story was more magical to me.
4.5 rounded up to 5. I could have done without the romance between Gloria and Raefel. Solid depiction of an historical event.
I will continue the series as I am intrigued but the first installment is just okay.
Book had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down. Great cast of characters.
