Yori wanting to marry his sister was an unappealing addition. Other than that, love this series
I received this book free through a giveaway.
This book about a the story of a fox named Nimbus who moves to the city after losing his mate. He journeys through anger and grief as he tries to make a new life for himself. I thought this book did a good show of illustrating his growth as a person. However, I was a little confused at times because the foxes would understand the concept and function of some human technology, but not at other times. I would recommend this book
I though this was great! However, the only thing that keeps it from five stars is that the last couple of chapters felt like forced. It was like the epilogue was covered in a speed run. Other than that, it was great. The magic system was really cool and easy to understand. I'm looking forward to the second book
I used this book for a class and I found it to be very helpful. It offers concise and easy-to-understanding explanations. It doesn't go very in depth but it is a good place to start.
This book started out strong. The magic system is cool, and I feel like it had good potential. That being said, I got bored once Ceony goes to retrieve Emery???s heart. Witnessing his happiest memories, hopes, worst moments, and doubts was a cool way to explore Thane???s character but it felt like a shift away from the stuff that made me want to read the book in the first place.
Ceony was an okay character. I kept forgetting that Ceony was 19 because she acted liked a young teen. It would have been a four with all that but then the romance thing started. She, a nineteen-year-old, likes Thane (her teacher who is in his thirties) and while she doesn???t actively encourage, Ceony doesn???t do anything to stop. Thane does not initiate encounters or reciprocate the feelings in this book. At the end of the book, it???s implied that they???ll get together and have kids.
I???m not sure I want to read to the other ones due to this.
I recived a copy of this book through a giveaway
It was enjoyable. I don???t usually read poetry but this was a good place to start.
I really liked this book. The narrators were amazing . Some issues that I have with the story is that some parts were predictable, the magic system was not fully explained, and Mirabelle is really irritating at times. That being said, if a sequel was released, I would totally read it
I liked the book because it gave us more insight on Snow, his way of thinking, and the history of why the Hunger Games are the way they are as we know it in the first book. I liked the book for the world and character building, but not for the main character
This was wild. This book had me hooked the whole time and kept me guessing. Whatever I thought this book was gonna be about or end, I was wrong.
Cats are the servants of Beelzebub. Who knew
Really enjoyed this book! I wish it had a sequel. Quarter star removed for insta-love.
My only complaint is that the the reader is told that the relationships between characters are advancing instead of showing it
I read the first two books before this, so I knew the gist of Six's background, however, this book provided a more detailed perspective into her character. It was a fast read but it was enjoyable.
I did not finish the book. I got three hours into the audio version before I stopped. It was wasn???t the narrator???s fault, but the characters. The main character, Sage, is desperate to prove that she is not like other girls. Because of this, she can???t stand to be around the other women she traveling with. Sage is also supremely arrogant and can???t have one calm or normal social interaction to save her life. Her chapters made me roll my eyes a lot. Every time the chapter focused on her, I wanted to switch the perspective of Ash (the eventual love interest, I???m sure). However, his perspectives were quite boring which made me want to listen to another book entirely. There???s a whole impending war plot line but it was easy to forget about
I really liked! It felt like reading fanfiction, and all the characters felt alive. It was funny and kept me captivated the whole time.
I wasn't drawn in by the characters or story. I put it down and I didn't want to pick it back up again
The writing felt a bit juvenile and it was hard to read. I couldn???t stay focused on the story and wanted to stop reading
The world building was really cool and had a lot of potential, but the MC was an obstacle. She refuses to share her thoughts or feelings with people and this leads to her pushing people away, then she's surprised when people leave. I understand why her attitude was the way it was, but it was a lot to get through as a reader, and it was frustrating to listen to her internal monologue. I found that the MC was more palatable during action scenes. I would have preferred any other character's POV. That being said, I really enjoyed the world build, lore, and other characters. I've never come across a magic system quite like the one in this book and it was a refreshing idea.
It is super short but it was interesting to see Sarah's POV. It takes place around the time she meets John, so it doesn't explain anything after the Halloween events. These journal entries didn't really change my opinion of Sarah, though
