Great YA read that describes a teen with a disability while attending high/school for the first time in her life .
It is a short and easy read. The cover is what caught my eye and decided to read. I love scifi and ya so unless you are into these genre, pass ;)
Sweet rom- com and this quote spoke to me:
“Teddy didn’t believe in guilty pleasures as a concept. She figured if you liked something, whether it was the Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme or the music of boy bands from the late nineties (okay, so those were both examples from Teddy’s life), why feel guilty about it? The world was a tough, cruel place. Why not find joy wherever you could, grab that joy by the metaphorical joy reins, and hold on tight?”

I found this book in my Libby app. The title and cover caught my eye. It's a unique sci-fi story told from the point of view of an alien. The narrator was superb. Highly recommended.
Such truth in this book. This is one I'll te-read over and over again. The best quote: “Do not fear the future, God is already there.”
Listening to this book again. So many quotes I need to write down but so far I have this one: “The greatest gift you can give to the world is the story God has written for you.”
From the devo in my my Bible app: “ You will create new trenches of truth. Our brains have neural pathways—mental ruts we created through repeatedly thinking the same thoughts—which trigger our automatic response to external stimuli. To stop a behavior, we need to remove the lie behind it and replace the neural pathway”
The brain + The Bible” BOOM.
In the beginning the plot was interesting then the plot turned pretty predictable and somewhat chessey.
I just finished the audiobook and the narrator with everything! It's a unique love story told by narrator, and I think the audiobook made such a difference. Listening to the book you can tell what the narrator is saying versus reading the book the narrator and the main protagonist get mixed up in my head. I would highly encourage you to check this out from the library, I read it for free in my Libby app.
Although I shelved this book as for children,I would give it to a teenager graduating from highschool. Jason Reynolds has written the book I would love to write one day! This book is a gem.
I got tired of all the minutiae of LD and his life. I guess if you really want to know everything there is to know about him, this is the book!
Magical read! I “read” this on Audible and loved every minute of it. Now I want to plan a trip to Paris with the love of my life, my husband :)
P.S: The mention of “Lucuma” during the first dinner between Paul and Mia is awesome since I'm from Peru!!!
Eleanor Oliphant is a book that will challenge your idea of depression and dealing with severe childhood trauma. Although this may sound like a sad book, on the contrary, it is a story of quiet perseverance.
