I really do like how Mariano Rivera described how he started at the bottom and worked his way up. He took a while to find the right position.
You really did a nice job describing the 5th West Virginia volunteer infantry and the creation of Ceredo. Good book.
WOW!!! This book is so full of hope! I love how Eldridge stresses the importance of the renewal and restoration of the Earth, the people we love, and we ourselves. We live in such a dark world filled with pathological unbelief in this beautiful restoration. So many believers believe that we die and go to Heaven and spend forever there. That's not true though, we don't go to God, He joins us here on Earth. Now, those who were reconciled to God through Jesus and have perished are in Heaven, and they will be there till that glorious day when God returns to Earth, Satan is defeated, all things bad are destroyed, and there is a new, eternal kingdom of Heaven and Earth that we get to enjoy with God forever and ever. All fellow brothers and sisters in Christ need to read this, so they can rejuvenate and restore their hope in the coming restoration!
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Revelation 21:5
This book was so informative and it really helped you understand just how horrifying the things US soldiers saw were. The inhumane treatment of Jews, POWs, and political enemies of the Nazi regime is horrifying. This book is a great narrative of recollections of people who saw the barbaric conditions firsthand when liberating the camp. This book contributes to an important category of non-fiction and helps put the holocaust denying to bed.
This book is a great book about all God's covenants that hHe has made with ma . Sproul does a great job explaining about how each covenant of the Old Testament was a foreshadowing of the coming of Jesus who would fulfill the covenant of works that was required for the forgiveness of our sins. Great book about how God always keeps His promises and never lies.
This book was great! It gave 7 great reasons for why the resurrection is true, and archaeological, cultural, and written evidence outside of the Bible too, to back up those reasons. As a believer in Jesus Christ this book really helped reinforce my belief in Him and His resurrection. This book has changed my entire outlook on how to live my life now with the hope and joy of the life that is to come when Christ returns.
Another great book by Tony! He provides lots of principles for how we as men can be Kingdom Men and be the kind of man that God created us to be, and Jesus taught us to be. He uses some great examples from the Old Testament to help us understand the principles. Highly recommend reading this book.
This book helped me have a deeper, yet basic, understanding of the Humanity of Jesus Christ. Thanks to His Humanity, Jesus was able to be the propitiation of all of man's sin. As the God-Man, Second Adam, and Lamb of God, Jesus, the Son of God was able to do what no other human could do in living a perfect sin free life, willingly died on the cross, and was raised three days later through the power of the Holy Spirit.
A beautiful biography of one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history. Seau is an example of what too much stress, too much pain, and too much head trauma can lead a person to do. Seau wasnt perfect, but he always strive to be better and that's all you can ask for from someone. Great biography on a great football player.
This book was amazing! I thought I truly getting to know God, but after reading this book I realized that I actually am not truly getting to know the true living God, but am just going through the motions of faith. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to get better in their walk with God, find out how to truly know God, live for God's glory, and live out the will God has for you in your life. I would even recommend this yo people who are not of the Christian faith or haven't accepted Jesus as their savior! Highly recommend!
The perfectly written biography about the German Empire, AKA the ‘Second Reich'. The author did a great job describing how the German Empire grew from a confederation or kingdoms into a United country. The author did a great job describing how a fall in leadership is one of the many things that led to the empire's demise and destruction in the First World War. Overall, a great book!
This book was confusing at times, but also very informative and insightful at times too. Not too bad.
I like how Laura Hillenbrand tells about Louis Zamperini who defied adversity gives the full details about a very special man.
This book was not quite as great as the first book, but it is still a great book nonetheless the less. I found it a little boring at times, but also suspenseful and entertaining too. Overall a decent book in a classic series.
This book was so so so so so good! I loved this book, and if I could I would give it 6 out of 5 stars! Kingsolver did such a great job describing what it's like growing up in Appalachia during the opioid epidemic. Granted , she did use a lot of stereotypical language and traits in her characters. However, the store of Demon and his journey is so inspiring and so realistic and accurate in describing how hard it was to grow up in Appalachia during the opioid epidemic and what it's like trying to break the cycle of addiction in a family. Beautifully written book by an amazing author!
This was a decent book. I thought that Craig gave some great steps to reframing your thoughts and renewing your mind, when it is under attack from the devil or the stresses of life. He definitely helped me figure out some ways to rewire my brain and reorganize my thoughts, so that I could win the war in my mind.
This book written by the man himself, Eddie Jake, is an awe inspiring story of perseverance, morality, and hopefulness. It is awful the atrocities that were committed by the Nazis during the Holocaust. This man survived Auschwitz and went on to live a long, fulfilling life, reaching the ripe old age of 101 years old. He sadly lost his faith in God due to the atrocities he saw in the Holocaust, but he decided to be the happiest man in the world instead of letting fear and anger control him and get him killed by the Nazis. He didn't seek revenge either after the war, but decided that living happily was his best form of revenge, since that was what the Nazis tried to take from him during the war. Am all around great autobiography, and it's not too long either, less than 200 pages. I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a first hand account of a truly inspiring story.
This book was amazing from page 1 to page 284!! Beginning to end, Matt gives a provocative message about the lazy, conformed, and selfish ways that the church has turned towards. The title may seem offensive, and this book may offend some of the liberal “Christians”, but he is brutally honest all the way. I feel like the church in the United States needs this wake up call, and would recommend it to any Christian, who wants to stop conforming and start serving.
This was such an eye opening book that helped me realize that a lot of the stereotypes that we have about the Vikings are false and that the Vikings really did have an impact in the early histories of Russia, Ukraine, Spain, and even North America. The Vikings weren't raiders, they were raiders that took advantage of poorly defended treasure trove monasteries and sought to achieve glory. The Viking mythology and religion is also very intriguing. An overall very informative and intriguing piece of historical scholarship.
From beginning to end, this was an amazing book that gave great biblical guidance to how we can spurn joy and happiness in a world of sadness and hate. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to be more like Jesus and less like the world in the way you treat others.
This is an amazing and sad classic. The way Remarque describes things makes you be able to easily visualize what is going on in the story. A great page turning classic.
A great book that helps you realize that it was the injection of toxic vitamins, drugs, and other substances, that led to the decline of Hitler's health and was a primary cause of Hitler's megalomania that made him make poor military decisions, and became delusional about the war.
