This was a creative short story. I was immediately engaged with the main character. If you go into this expecting a novel, you may be disappointed, but if you have delved into the short story genre before, give it a whirl.
Trigger Warning: This is not a spoiler as it's the how the book starts off, but there should be a trigger warning for suicide here. Why don't we have trigger warnings on books? This book is so well written and a fascinating concept. But I have so many feelings about this one...
Hmmmm can't decide what to rate this... it was a little hard to follow and maybe too many characters/POVs? I don't know. The writing was really good. But I LOVED Station Eleven and I just didn't love this one.
Now that's stepping it up for the suspense/thriller genre!! So well written. Looking forward to more by Camilla Way!
Wow. This was mesmerizing and haunting. I loved this author's first book so much and this one was equally well-written and engrossing. Definite book hangover commencing!!
Meh. Character development was good and interesting, but the overall story was plodding and predictable.
Another great addition to this outstanding private detective procedural series. Kristen Lepionka's writing is smart and skilled, and her storytelling is engaging and current without being “ripped from the headlines” at all. Highly recommend this series.
Whew! That was a wild ride that kept me up into the wee hours tonight! Loved it! Mike Omer is a new favorite in this genre. 🎉
I have to admit - it took me a while to get into this one, but I'm sooooo glad I stuck with it because it was so beautiful and heartbreaking and lovely. Wonderfully written first novel from this non-fiction author. So good!!
