The first few chapters are painfully 2014 tumblr grunge.
The rest is pretty good.
I thought I might be losing interest in this series after I didn't get hooked on the second book like I fell in love with the first one but that was not the case here because I'm obsessed. The way it brings everyone together and then set up the next part of the story is delicious. There were plot twists that I didn't see coming but made absolute sense and I was like woah.

A random pick from a second hand store.
Even without having read the first book it was still easy to grasp the story and the world.
May have enjoyed it more if I had read the first book but it was still a solid read as a standalone.
