I want to send this book to every international agency and government. Every page is packed with empirical evidence as well as forceful, viscerally charged argument. The book is also rational, the arguments are logically sound and the authors conclusions are substantial.
The reading will be hard going for some. It's rigorous, it's shocking and will challenge very many people's pre-conceptions. However, it's also an important book and for that reason alone, worthwhile reading.
This is a rare piece of honestly in a landscape of lies.
Interesting exposition but could be more plainly written
Whiteheads thesis in this book is outlines a structure for understanding nature in a novel way that, once you penetrate the writing has coherence. It won't give you a modern view but would make interesting reading for anyone interested in metaphysics. The only area lacking is that his symbolism is hard to follow and his coinage of new words unnecessary. Otherwise a pleasant challenge to read.
Just finished Understanding Context. Hinton has done an excellent job of taking some core principles in a field of psychology that is still emerging and framed the relevance of contextual thinking in the work we do as designers of digital systems. Truly impressed.
