What a sad read at times! The AIDS crisis brought alive, we see the ripples through time this moment caused. The pain and the people trying to cope left behind.
What a lovely book about falling in love, meeting challenges in a relationship and friendship throughout. Also a great insight into being trans and having OCD.
This second book took a lot longer to get going and was significantly darker. A lot of the heart that made the first book work wasn’t here and there was a lot of tragedy for the characters to cope with.
I enjoyed the climax of the story and I probably will read the next one in the series when it comes out but the first one was a lot more enjoyable.
Great modern witch story for fans of Harry Potter, charmed, the craft etc. Simply told but entertaining story with progressive political message at the base:
Love love loved all the stories set in Ireland. Her turn of phrase is exquisite. Some of the American ones weren’t as strong IMO. My favs were Antartica, Sisters, The Ginger Rogers Sermon and Love in the Tall Grass.
I’ve read a few celeb memoirs and I like this one a lot as for a lot of her life she was a real person with a real messy life.
I think some bits were too long and others felt rushed though.
I read this after watching All of Us Strangers at LFF as I loved it so much. I really enjoyed the concept of the book. Found it a lot more fantasy vibes in the end rather than the dramatic focus of the film. A nice read but not as tender as the film IMO.
