Loved this book even more than Circe! This author is really making me gain more interest into greek mythology.
Meh. I think the authors focused more on their puzzle, rather than the puzzle for the PLOT of the BOOK.
2.5. some twists at the end. will continue the series since the reviews say the sequel is the more popular book.
3.25. Very interesting background – I did have to go back and re-read some chapters which sparked me to want to rate it 3.25-3.5. It wasn't entirely easy to get through but there were definitely some interesting parts. Towards the end, there were a lot of new characters that were difficult to keep up with. This may be due to listening to the audiobook. Not sure how the Darlington twist is going to turn out.
There was a lot of unanswered questions which is strange to find in the THIRD book of a TRILOGY. Obviously, the author is setting it up for other books, but I don't appreciate the series ending with unanswered questions.
4.25. I didn't like the last 50 pages. it shows you don't knwo the characters as well as you thought you do. I didn't feel as if Rin had experienced enough trauma to make her as angry as Altan had been.
I liked it, but it was as enticing as the first two books of the chronicles. There was so much to the story line and too many secrets being kept.
Not sure what the point of this book was for. There was no plot and some portions read like fanfiction. I really wouldve thought this would be a chance to delve more into the Nesta issue.
The book had a slow start, but it picked up greatly at the end. I'm normally spot-on with my predictions, and I don't if it was because of Sara Raasch or my summer cold, but I was definitely shocked! Very excited to read the second book.
I give it 2.5 stars. Some stories were better than others, and sometimes it was hard keeping up with the character's lineage. overall, an interesting story to tell about the journey from africa to america.
