Would absolutely recommend to anyone who loves dark fantasy and a bit of romance. I'm saying dark fantasy due to the amount of violence and gore throughout the book. Robson provides eloquently written descriptions of the harsh and dangerous world of a becoming a Bloodguard. There was a great balance of action and romance- not too cheesy as to take away from the story itself, but a relationship that has you reading for more.

I would be sure to read the "warning" page, that describes the intensity of this book- be prepared for intense imagery but also to love it!!
