10/10
I have no notes. This was perfection. I absolutely wanted to scream at the last sentence... but at the same time, I can't imagine this book ending any other way.
This book is definitely geared more towards those that have a yard. Or more space then most city dwellers. It does have a few handy tips. But it's not really geared towards anyone who resides in an apartment.
This book had so much promise. I was really hooked! And then Part II came along and it became a boring onslaught of time hopping and ghost stories. I with it had stayed more in the true crime realm and didn't delve into the paranormal.
This might not be the book for you if you need something to have all the loose ends tied off into pretty little bows. However, if you want something that will make you feel every emotion and struggle with character developments, and maybe feel a little drained emotionally at the end... then this book is perfect for you.
I really enjoyed each character. Their trials and tribulations. Every nook and cranny of the forest. There was always a wonder of what would be around the next corner. And to be frank, the book ended perfectly with how you never really knew what would happen next.
I was not a fan of the character changes every chapter and the timeline jumps. I also felt like it was such a slow build-up that once things finally started happening it was almost jarring, and then it felt like everything ended quite abruptly.
While the overall concept of the story was intriguing, I was not the biggest fan of the layout.
