Ostensibly, a book about the philosophy of architecture, it teaches me that the problem and the core of any solution to the problem rely on an organized sets of pattern. This particular philosophy has served me well in how I tend to approach to solve problems that occur in the engineering design and research.
A book about the vitality of cities, it has influenced me to see psychology and sociology as part of the design strategy.
This book draws on research from the field of cognitive science to expertly analyze some of the unexamined meta-beliefs in education. It may have confirmed some of the biases I have against majority of educational theories (such as Bloom Taxonomy and evidence-based research in education), its greater influence on me is to help to shape my teaching to focus more on students' learning.
