As a fan of the tv show and not a big comics reader, I truly enjoyed this one. Woman Woman in Gotham city was a great idea! Inventive, action-packed. Artwork, beautifully done. Great comic collection for the fan or new to comic readers.
I received this book for my honest review.
This is the first book in the scared series. It follows Jackson (who was introduced in Infinite fear). He has changed his wasy, works at his fahers shop, and got accepted at Brown, who also happens that his best friend Jade is going to.
He decides to suprise her but he gets to meet her roomate Maia. From the start they are both inrigued by each other. They both have past issues that makes it hard for them to trust and move forward.
This was an easy read. L
m not a big fan of romance book, but it was good book. I liked the concept of each Jackson and Maia having their own chapters and giving their point of views and seeing how much they damaged but they needed to break away and move forward.
Was well written, was interesting, just not my kind of genre.
3/5
I received this novella for my honest review.
This novella is the story of Jackson, a young adult who spends his time drinking, sleeping with almost every woman he meets. he wasn`t like that before, he had a girlfriend, Shana that he loved. She gets pregnant and they decide to terminate the pregnancy but changes her mind and disappears leaving him destroyed. He spends his nights sleeping around and drinking. We also get intorduced to Jade, his lesbian best friend and who is trying to get Jackson to change his ways and live a life with purpose.
One night he goes to a strupclub to hear his friend Jade play and meets Nina and makes him see life in a different light.
It was a good story, well written. The characters were developped. I felt that Jackson was a great character, you understood why he became that way and also he realized that there was more to life than drinking and partying his life away.
This coming of age book was fun, sexy and also intriguing to make you want to learn more about Jackson and what his life will become in the next book of the series Scared of beautiful. What I liked about this book is that It can be read before of in between the other two books.
Great read for the romance lovers.
I received this book from the author for my honest review.
What a great original story. Intriguing, well written characters. Great introduction for the Broken people series. Reading this prequel makes you want to know more about the characters, to the telecharger, the knife throwers, the balerina, the singer, the pole dancer and the robot and let`s not forget the owner of the Circus, Dino with the green skin. I wanna go see this circus!
I received this book for my honest review.
This is the third novel in the sacred series but can be read as a stand alone.
Emily is engaged to the love of her life Blake but slowly she realizes that Blake has been telling lies after lies. Then there's Blake's brother Tyler who immediately feels a connection to Emily and she feels it too.
Like the first novel, this one is also told in the point of views of Emily, Blake and Tyler.
For the moment Blake was introduced I didnt like him but the author did a good job with the character. Emily and Tyler were well developped and you want to root for them.
Since it
s a romance story, a love triangle had to be included. A lot of twist and it was an enjoyable read.
The author did a good job with this series. A great read for romance junkies.
Great suspense. The chracters were well written. Great introduction of Kathryn dance series
The book picks up right after the first one. Libby and Aaron are on the run and Kyle is left at Carroll falls to be a reaper. Part of them think they are somewhat safe from Abbadon but they know they cannot escape him its just a matter of time before they catch them and the punishement will be hell.
They need help but nobody can help them, Abbadon is everywhere, they meet another reaper Booby, who reveals that there
s a rumour that another reaper escaped from Abbadon crutches. Is it true? Can they escape and be free before Abbadon finds them?
Great follow-up to Call me Grim. The author makes up feel the pain and fear of the main characters. You go through their journey and root for them every step of the way. The book is fileld with suspense, danger and some romance. The ending was a surprise but l`m sure the third one will be as good as this one.
5 stars.
I expected more for a finish. Too many characters that at one point I could`nt keep up with all of them.
First of all I would like to thank the author for giving an advanced copy of this novel.
A very fast, gripping and exciting book! it keeps you guessing all the way to the end. What made three people who have ordinary lives do the unthinkable and kill 4 people? They seem to have one thing in common: the twisting of their necks and the phrase “Straight and true”, what does it mean? Freelance journalist Kendall Jennings and detective Lance O'Grady are on the case and will be shocked when they are face with the answer.
A truly intelligent suspense/thriller novel!
That was one heck of a bizarre freaky story. keeps you hooked and guessing from the start until the end.
Beau roman a travers les yeux d'un enfant immigrant au Quebec. Les hauts et les bas de vivre au Quebec, l'intégration, comprendre les mots “jouale” mais surtout ce livre porte le terme de la famille. Bien exécuté
As a book reader, I was suprised that I never heard of this author. By chance one of my bookclub had this book for the book of the month and decided to read it. I wasn't sure when I started reading this book if I was going to like it, it started really slow but all of a sudden I couldn't stop reading it! Beautifully written, just the right amount of mystery, suspense and love. I truly enjoyed reading this book. It will be in my to read more than once list.
Richard wanted to do something nice for his brother Philip upcoming nuptials; have his bachelor party at his beautiful quiet home. What he didn't expect was chaos and murder. Great writing about murder, sex traficking and infidelity.
Kat Donovan in on a dating website and discovers that her old fiancé from, 18 years ago is not only on the same but widowed. Tries to make contact but he's not interested. A young man goes to her and tells her that his mother is missing and went away with Kat's old flame. At the same time Kat is trying to find the real truth about her father's murder. This books goes on all directions but soon all is connected with some big revelations. Great story! Intriguing, you don't know where this story is going with all the questions and twists that happens.
Slow at first but about halfway through it picks up and gets good. Great book, interesting characters.
C'est le premier livre de Marie Laberge que je lis. Bonne histoire. Le suspense est bien mais pas assez pour me tenir en haleine mais bon livre à lire.
I received this book – AEREDEN – The child returns (AERENDEN # 1) from the author in exchange for my honest review.
I don't read a lot of fantasy books but reading the synopsis, I was intrigued.
The story starts on earth with Meaghan, Nick and her parents. She has a normal life, going to college but then a tragedy happens and Nick explains to her that they have to go back to her real home called AEREDEN.
As they get there, she discovers more about her past, the magic, powers and danger that lives through AEREDEN. She also gets the reason why she was sent on earth, the reason why she's back and what her future holds.
All the characters, the main and the supporting ones we're well described. There are many but not too much that you feel lost. The author did an excellent job with narrating the book that you felt like you were right there. The emotions of the characters, the places they went, the land so well described.
I felt that the twist were so well placed in the book that it made me want to read one more chapter and it happened quite a few times.
To my surprise, I truly enjoyed this book. It was a great Fantasy YA book.
It was my first book written by an indie author and I was impressed. I give this book a 4 stars!
There's a book # 2 and I will definitely will read it!
I received this book – Antancia (The Durand duology #1) from the author Wren Figueiro in exchange for my honest review.
This book is a paranormal romance for young adults and it is told trough the eyes of the main character Antacia Clark.
She's a college student, who has panic attacks, is very shy and doesn't has many friends and has been brought up by Nana, her adoptive grandmother. She was left to her care by her mother who disappeared and never heard from again. She meet Benjamin Althaus at a New Year's eve party and instantly their connection is undeniable. Not only she falls for him but finds out part of her heritage.
This book is good not great. I like the fact that it was Antancia who was talking about her life and what was happening.
I found it too slow and some parts were not all that interesting. I didn't get the wow factor reading the book until near the end when the suspense was present.
Will I read the second book? Yes, the way it ended, I still want to learn what happens.
I give this book a 3 stars.
A very interesting book. It was great to imagine how they lived in that period of time. I listened to the audio version, which l'm not a big fan of but it was well done and entertaining. Great story and characters.
