A valiant take on totalitarianism. Orwell's oeuvre questions the norms that forms the very “backbone” of a working society in a very existential manner. The concept of “thought police” is a very distinctive illustration of such. A ghastly tale of demise of sanity and henceforth proving, sanity indeed IS statistical.
The fact that Mountbatten tried to steal the credit for the concept behind it very much proves its worth.
Create Dangerously: 5/5
A vivid description of the dilemma of an artist, and true fodder for motivation to keep on creating without bias.
Defence of Intelligence: 3/5
Camus in his quirky era.
Bread and Freedom: 4/5
The references were beyond me. The importance of duties over privileges in true freedom can't be more properly emphasized than this.
