The Origami Yoda Series is the absolute best of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid/Big Nate/Timmy Failure ilk. These books are uniquely funny, super readable, and oddly profound. Maybe I'm just nostalgic but I swear no other children's series handles Origami Yoda's peculiar strain of topics and themes with the same passion and nuance found here. It's complex and poignant stuff. Tackles educational ethics, fading fantasy and imagination, social ostracization, and finding human authenticity in a world that grows more jaded with each passing birthday. Worth a read no matter how old you are.
