I only give this 3 stars because it managed to get me out of a reading slump. I loved Neil Gaimans writing style but the book is a little confusing, I got a little lost in the plot very often.
This is categorized as a bdsm read, but in my opinion, it couldn't be further from that. This is a cheesy romance where both of the main characters have childhood traumas, and they work together to heal from them.
It was cute how caring and loving Jensen was towards Kylie but it bored me to death at the same time. I've felt like I was reading the same chapters over and over again.
It's definitely not my type of book.
WOW! Just wow! I love this book even better than the first one ok. While Divergent only managed to captivate me at the end of the first 4/5 chapters, Insurgent got me hooked from the first one. It is a book full of action and many surprises. Beatrice is caught between her apparent will to end her life and her love for Tobias/Four and that is a bit intriguing because it makes you feel like yelling at her to do the right thing. Because of this, Insurgent is a book that will make you feel a bit anxious.
To me, this was the kind of book that always makes me curious to know what's going to happen next.
IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK THEN DON'T SCROLL DOWN NOW, BECAUSE THERE'S SPOILERS BELOW.
It is a bit stressfu, that Tris and Tobias spend basically the whole book arguing but so adorable how they always find their way to solve their problems and find their way back to each other.
Now, the only thing I disliked was the lack of credibility that had the fact that Peter saved Tris' life, because his justification made it sound like he just saved Tris because she's the protagonist and couldn't die. This was something I think Veronica Roth could have worked a little on.
Besides this, I loved Insurgent and I'm super excited, can't wait to read Allegiant!!
This book was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I loved it soooo much. Personally, I love supernatural related stuff so this book to me is a must, completely!
The plot of this book happens in the twenties in New York and it talks about a small group of people that have supernatural gifts and then there's this killer in town that is murdering people and leaving supernatural marks on their bodies like pentagrams.
I really really loved it, Libba Brays writting is so amazing that you get attached to the book since the very beginning... I was like in the third paragraph and I was already loving it a lot!
The characters are funny and some of them, I'd say, even intriguing but in a good way. Also, it can get a little scary at some point which I found awesome because few books can make me feel a little scared while reading spooky things. The only kind of negative thing I have to say is that I wished it had happened a little faster, because the action is a bit slow and personally I like a little action too.
In conclusion, I'm very glad I gave this book a try and it was worth every time that I “wasted” reading it!!
