The alchemist was pretty good, but the executioness was excellent. Great character development for such a short format. There was a little bit of crossover between the stories, but I would love to see this world explored further. It is full of stories that could be told.
A very interesting premise, but not carried out all the way. It ended too soon for a novel and was too complex for a short story. I wish he would flesh this one out a little more. The characters are very good.
A very very odd story. It was an interesting concept, but It lacked coherency. There were a lot of different story lines that should have been fleshed out more. It seemed to me that there were many oddities that were thrown in for their own sake. The characters were very good and I would have liked to see more backstory with the bigger characters, the less important characters were much more developed than some of the main characters.
I liked this one more than the first two. The way that it follows the history of a bloodline kept me interested and kept the story moving. It seemed more grounded than the first two. The second story line was a good choice to tie it all together.
A very long article, but definitely worth the read. The fact that the author of snow crash and Cryptonomicon was the author brought another level of interest to the material as well.
It was a great book up until the point where all the action stops abruptly and he goes right into the happily ever after. Other than the almost cliff-hanger end, It was an awesome read.
