See allI entered into reading this book somewhat blindly, I knew there was a ghost and a girl and a pact and that was about it because I just scanned the synopsis like I to with most books. With this book I found that I genuinely loved this book. Grandma is one of the best grandmas out there and is one of my favorite characters in the book. I grew to enjoy Seth who is a complex character, a ghost with a sharp wit and a tragic past. His interactions with Sara are both humorous and poignant, creating a dynamic that keeps the reader engaged. The author skillfully weaves together elements of historical fiction, incorporating references to literature and art that add depth to the narrative.
While the pacing may be a bit slow at times, the overall plot is well-crafted and satisfying. The ending is both bittersweet and hopeful, leaving the reader with a sense of closure.
If you're a fan of paranormal romance with a historical twist, Ladybirds is a must-read. Raeta's writing is evocative and engaging, and the characters are both memorable and relatable.
