3.5 stars. Fun and really easy read, I plowed through it in about 3 days. I enjoyed the characters, how racism and sexism was addressed and the romance was super sweet. Loved the first third or so, but couldn't bring myself to care a ton about the twist in the latter portion. Great beach or vacation read.
Really enjoyed essays by Jesmyn Ward, Rachel Kaadzi Ghansah, and Honoree Fanonne Jeffers especially.
Great stuff in the first half about copywriting, the rest is somewhat out of date by now.
The rituals were interesting, but thought there would be a bit more behind it then just 2-3 pages on each person, no sort of commentary or analysis.
