I enjoyed this book on more levels than I expected. Tina Fey is, of course, brilliantly funny, but I also found her life-lessons to be very applicable to the life of a female engineer as well as a female comedian. Apparently, whether I like it or not, I may be a feminist. But just the Tina Fey kind.

I clearly learned nothing about Hawaii in school. Now I have learned we (the U.S.) were jerks and that apparently, if you support a coup, without the proper permissions, you don't get in nearly as much trouble as I would have suspected. Complete with the standard Sarah Vowell wit, although, I still say Assassination Vacation was her best work. Maybe it's just the natural truth that presidential assassinations are funnier than missionaries and island nations.

Are you tired of comedians being exposed for pretending to be nice?
If so, I'd like to recommend Josh Gondelman who is earnestly funny and genuinely nice.
No, no, not Jim Gaffigan (although I like him too). There will be no hot-pocket jokes here.
I'll probably re-listen to it soon, because it feels like a good antidote to the 2020 of it all.

Pro-tip: get the audiobook.

To be fair, my love for this book is based on my love for Dr. Solomon's Existentialism class that I took in college. It's not necessarily a weekend read, especially the Heidegger excerpts. I actually would recommend checking out the audio for his lectures if you are not used to reading philisophical texts.
