This was a cute read! I love that Honoria had a bit more of a modern vibe to her, idk, it made it a bit different. I liked that Marcus wasn't a territorial animal, it was a nice mix of territorial & respect. My only issue was the quartet scene, I had to skim through it because the second hand embarrassment was too much lol
I first started reading this book right after I finished the second book and I had to put it down. I'm not a huge fan of the cinderella plot line, to be honest, I think it is extremely overplayed and cheesy so when I picked up on it in the first chapter I was like hell nah and swore off the rest of the Bridgerton books.
Fast forward a year (or 2, idk anymore) and a second season of Bridgerton...
I decided I would give it another shot.
And I am SO GLAD I DID!!!! I really enjoyed this book, it was hella cute! I wasn't a fan of Benedict asking multiple times for Sophie to be his mistress, that was just giving me too much alpha male dick head energy... but other than that, Benedict is
I read this back in middle/high school & I remember loving this series so I thought it would help me get over my reading slump.
It didn't.
It was entertaining but it took me almost a month to read.
Really enjoyed this book. I needed something ‘easy breezy' as a break between the series I'm reading. It was everything I was expecting; completely predictable, whirlwind romances, with a sprinkle of smut.
The first story was a little lack lustre but still enjoyable. The second was extremely predictable, which I did not mind. The third story... wow! The writing and the chemistry between Georgina and Hugh was awesome!
I'm so conflicted by this book. I don't know if it was good or bad but I couldn't put it down. Between the murders, the sex, the three brothers, I don't know what to think about it. It didn't have a huge plot and I wish there was a bit more romance instead of pretty much just sex.
I'm very much a one guy kind of girl so I couldn't imagine being involved with three. The dynamic between Nick and Juliet was really interesting (emotionally abusive, manipulative, and traumatic, yes, but interesting) so I wish the book went more in depth about their relationship.
Otherwise, I don't know how to rate this book. Like I said I couldn't put it down but I feel like me giving it a high rating would mean I may need to go to therapy to address it
I read this after I watched the first season of Bridgerton & it pretty much started my love for regency romance books. I love everything about this book, reading it with the Bridgerton soundtrack playing in the background is just
I was not a fan of this one, every time I thought I was starting to get interested, it just went back to being meh. I don't think I'll continue the series.
I really liked this book for what it was, a quick, easy, steamy read. The story was a bit weak but I assumed that when I decided to read this book, I just wanted an entertaining book to spend the day reading. Overall, it wasn't a horrible read but also not the best thing I have read, just an enjoyable quick read.
This book was ok. It was entertaining if you didn't think too hard while reading it. Very cliché mafia romance, entertaining, but that's about it. I wasn't a fan of Aida but that's just personal opinion.
One thing I found weird was the whole “I hate you but I'm going to jump in the shower with you and then we hook up” scene was a little weird but I guess you gotta move the story along somehow
Book 3 of my power outage book binge.
Day 5 without power.
I'm not sure what I just read but I was intrigued...? I might read the second book but it's not on the top of my list of series to finish.
This was a good read! I joke about my mental health all the time and I try not to talk about it too seriously (except when needed) so the tweet-like language people mentioned actually really helped me relate to this book.
Read 2: So this is not a good book to read when you're trying to get out of a reading slump lol.
This book is the only reason why I didn't go absolutely crazy on my trip to Scotland. The family trip from hell gave me a chance to finally finish this book since I was incapacitated in multiple ways for the entirety of my trip, iykyk... Anyway, it was as good as I remember & I can't wait to start reading the second one!
Read 1: I read this book in an evening... my brain hurts but it was soooo good that I couldn't put it down!
This book was a wild ride. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, another plot twist happened. It was tense, creepy, and a little disturbing.
My review for the entire series. I have mixed feelings... I liked it, it was entertaining but also very cringy & I wasn't really that invested. The characters weren't that likeable, I HATED Aria. I get that this has a whole Dom/sub vibe to it but the girl has 0 backbone. However, her little 180 in the second book (I think) did redeem her a bit... not by much though
I finally finished it!!! This book took me forever to get through (def don't recommend reading this if you're trying to get out of a reading slump) but it was so worth it!!! I need the next book (either Crescent City or ACOTAR) RIGHT THIS SECOND!!
Pros:
- Bryce still sits at #1 for my fav female character
- I need a Hunt in my life (luv u M, but like... do you blame me)
- The SPICEEEEEE
Cons:
- It did get boring at times but it was worth pushing through.
This book was really informative. I have started using some of the techniques the author mentioned and it has improved my ability to create and maintain certain habits. As a person with anxiety and other mental disorders, habits and routines are extremely important to my life, however I do struggle to stick with them.
The only reason I gave this a 4/5 rating was because it took me months to get through this book.
This is the first poetry book I've read & idk why I didn't read them before, maybe my prefrontal cortex finally matured enough to understand it lol.
A few tears were shed as there were some poems I definitely could relate to.
When I started reading this book I thought it was going to be hella dark... turns out I was thinking of another book... whoops (luv the serial killer dating a profiler moment tho)
But this book didn't disappoint even though it wasn't the book I expected. I really enjoyed it & found it very interesting! Will be adding the rest to my TBR.
This is just going to be my comments on the series as a whole... 10/10! This was a wild ride from the beginning & I loved it!
I love this book! I could not put it down and read it in a day! I went through so many different emotions reading this, it was heartbreaking but also not at the same time
I grew up Catholic, I went to a Catholic private school for a few years, went through all the sacraments a young person can go through, I am aware of the meaning behind certain things, however I ended up an atheist (to the displeasure of my mom and grandmother.) This book TRIGGERED my Christian guilt so much! It almost felt disrespectful but also like... I was intrigued? This book had me throwing my Kobo across the room at some points or just staring into the abis as I contemplated my sanity.
BUT!!! Behind all the sex (A LOT of sex) it was a cute story.
